How to Write an English Letter for Class 10 - CBSE ARC
Letter writing is still critical in personal and professional life. In class 10 letter writing is a part of writing section. Letter writing contains 5 marks. 3 marks for content including format and letter body, 1 mark for grammar fluency and other 1 mark for accuracy of spelling and the correct presentation. A complaint letter is written formally to an authority or administrator. How to write a perfect letter in class 10?

- Write the sender's address and it should be concise for instance House no. 185 Saket Nagar, Kanpur 208014. Always place senders address on paper margin to make it look better.
- The date must be written in this way 15 September 20XX and avoid writing 15/09/20XX this is the incorrect way to write date while writing letter.
- After mentioning date, the receiver address must be written properly for instance The Manager, Patel Nagar Delhi.
- The subject must be written in precise and short sentence and underline the subject with a pencil to make it more eye-catching. subjects can be written optionally before and after "Respected sir/ma'am". CBSE follow both ways of writing subjects in board examination.
- Start the letter with a formal expression. one must write respected sir/ma'am but previously it was written "Dear sir or ma'am". CBSE Examiner does not accept "Dear sir" one should write Respected sir it's a formal expression.
- Start letter introduction like "Through this letter of mine I would like to draw your kind attention towards my locality" then mention issues and problems that one is facing. on the contrary, start the second paragraph by elaborating viewpoints and add necessary details in points if needed.
- Close your letter by mentioning "Thanking you", "Yours sincerely", "Your obediently, and "Your truly". Mention name as per the question requirement.
